Saffron Market is open Tuesdays and Saturdays , bringing a vibrant atmosphere to the town. There is a great mixture of stalls from plants and clothing to a variety of fresh foods, fruit , vegetables, bread , sausages, mediteranian foods (olives and tapenade). But my favourite is the flower stall beautiful fresh flowers all year round.
If you haven't already discovered the cafe at Angela Reeds furniture shop in Saffron Walden, then you are missing a trick. Serving freshly made breakfast , brunch , lunch , afternoon tea , all beautifully presented and at reasonable prices. The shop is located just off the market square, less than a 10 minute walk from The Stables holiday cottage. We would certainly recommend the Aranchini balls shown here , available on the new menu.... absolutely delicious!! Go on .... you know you want to!!
